1. CROSS

If S = 3 and each letter represents a different digit 1 - 9, find their values.

2. A magazine has 36 pages. The front page is page 1. What other pages are on the same sheet as page 10?

3. A toad fell down a 12-foot well. It can't hop out. It has to climb out. It climbs 4 feet a day, but during the night, while resting, it slips back 2 feet. At this rate, how many days will it take the toad to climb out of the well?

4. What is the time missing from the following sequence?

WATCH A -- 3:21
WATCH B -- 5:25
WATCH C -- 9:30
WATCH D -- 3:36
WATCH E -- ??

5. 7 people meet in a room. Each person shakes hands once with each other. How many handshakes are there altogether?

6. The rope ladder of a boat hangs over the side of the boat and just reaches the water. Its rungs are 8 inches apart. How many rungs will be under the water when the tide rises 4 feet?

4 is right...

but 5 is wrong... 720 is impossible (it is too big)...

6. kidding?
ladder is hung on the side of the boat
so it will rise together with the boat when the tide rises
it will never be immersed in water
